I'm an elf. I have always felt like I didn't exactly belong in this world or time....
My friend Joi says she always expects my ears to be pointy, and is surprised when they aren't.
I took this picture sort of with Zephirelli's Romeo and Juliet in mind. I love Juliet's long brown hair in that one, and I think there's a picture on the cover or, maybe it's just in the movie with her profile against her dark hair like that.
I took out the chaotic background of my room, but didn't know what to put back there, so I just left it. so, yeah, it looks totally cut out...I'm not that great with photoshop, but I felt like I did a good job on the ear anyway. Maybe eventually I'll get around to 'finishing' it with a background
--- I do NOT take any of my pictures with the intention that that be used as stock. I'm indecisive - that's why I post a lot of the 'same' stuff. However, if you really want to use one of them please note me, tell me your plan, and if I say ok link back to the picture you used.
Yay!!! You look so pretty in this one and the ear looks great! Maybe you should put one of your flower or moss pictures in the background...I dunno...something green!!
yeah definatley green...I'd like to make it look like I'm in a forrest, but then the lighting is really more indoor warm lamplike light, and I haven't got a good woods picture that I've taken myself, so I guess it'll sit like this till I take one that strikes me as right.
It's a good manip. . .I've never quite got the ears right. The hairstyle works, too; I can see what you mean about R&J, though Olivia Hussey would be a bit too swarthy for an elf, methinks.
A thought on your background dilemma: an overcast day would solve your brightness problems, and a judicious use of warming filter should do the rest (In Photoshop, you'll find it under Image -> Adjustments -> Photo Filter). Hope this helps; it's bailed me out a couple of times.

thanks! I'll have to play around with that...and try to find a good picture to put in the background.
for the ears I just copy sections of the ear and then rotate them so they will meet at the right angle...it's pretty much just a lot of layers of copied ear pieces and little adjustments to the angle, and then erasing parts just right so the colors blend smoothly. I've found some pictures and certain people's ears are easier or harder to point...this one didn't take much doing.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
