Description
I've always felt as though I was really from another time and place.....but if I had to pick a place here on earth, the Brittish Isles have always felt most like home -especially Scotland. But wherever I am I try and bring as much of my world to the world as I can - hence the way I commonly dress
So here I am in the park one day this fall. I love that hill in the center with the trees on it and the little circular stone wall I'm wearing two of my favorite skirts I've made (I love layers!). Underneath is a sliky green skirt which you can't really see but it adds nice flow and a little extra weight to the one on top - a plaid flannel. I absolutely adore that plaid - the colours...the size of the stripes.... and it's so cozy and comfy and soft It streatched a good bit after I'd hemmed it making the length somewhat uneven, but I rather like it that way so you can see some of whatever I wear underneath. It has a drawstring waist so that the gathers can be redistributed however I feel like...usually more in the center so that is lays flater on the sides.
That leather bodice I got recently at a Scottish Fair made by Carol Farnes. I really love it! especially how the straps are laced to the back - which you can't see here. I'm hoping to get a another custom fitted one from her one of these days
